Hook or Loop?Hook is the side attached to the back of your patch.
Loop is the fuzzy side sewn onto the uniform. Common sizes:
1x5 is most common for nametapes
2x2 for rank, chaplain insignia, etc.
2x3 for such insignias as Airborne, Air Assault, CAB, CMB, etc.
2x4 or 1.5x3.25 for such insignias as pilot wings and CIB
